We’ve done a lot of testing on motors… and in our opinion, the Bafang M560 checks all of the boxes. It’s the most powerful, reliable, lightweight, and affordable mid-mount electric bike motor. Click here to read about why you want a mid-mount motor vs. a hub motor.
When paired with the 48v, 720wh, UL certified battery, you get a powerhouse emtb that virtually eliminates all range anxiety. Plus the battery is beautifully hidden in the down-tube and is easily removable. Depending on the pedal assist mode, conditions, and riding weight, you can expect our battery to take you anywhere from 30-75 miles on a charge. And with 140nm of torque on the Bafang 750 watt M560, there isn’t climb that will scare your legs.
We’re all about lightweight… so the JOWE frame is constructed from Toray T700 carbon fiber, providing a super stiff frame that is ultra-durable. Plus our frames come with a 3 year warranty.Â
The JOWE features modern geometry that can be configured for All-Mountain riders and even commuters. All cables are neatly routed inside the frame.
All of this is finished with an impeccable, eye-catching holographic paint job that will make your bike the envy around town. The JOWE comes in two remarkable holographic paint jobs, the Purple Vortex & Blue Enigma… or go fully custom to make your bike uniquely yours!
The JOWE comes standard with a beautiful integrated handlebar display that provides all the info you need, while keeping your focus on the path ahead. Or, upgrade to our unique Fitte stem display, allowing you to use the handlebar of your choice but keeping your ride data front and center. If you’re not into integrated displays, the standard electric bike display can be installed.
When it comes to suspension, we don’t think you can find a more versatile hardtail electric bike. Our standard setup is the Marzocchi Bomber Air Z2 (a Fox company), which is the BEST value in all of suspension. It’s top level quality at an affordable price. If you’re going to upgrade, we suggest staying in the Fox family… we love their products and we get the best value on them (which we pass along to you).Â
But for those that know what they want and love other suspension brands, we can also put any Rockshox or Cane Creek fork (up to 150mm) on your Drip e-Bike.Â
Your wheels are what touch the ground and we think we’ve found the best possible combination – DT Swiss wheels with Vittoria tires. DT Swiss wheels are unrivaled, all hand-made in Colorado. They are our number 1 recommended upgrade to the JOWE, with 3 emtb specific models to choose from. (PSST: If you order now, you get them as a FREE upgrade). If you want to keep cost down, our intro model comes with tubeless-ready WTB wheels that as nice of an intro level wheel made.
Vittoria tires complete the wheel setup. Vittoria is leading the way in tire technology and has developed several emtb specific tires to handle the additional load from electric bikes. Of course, we also love Maxxis, which are available, but they’re more expensive and we don’t think they provide a performance gain.
The JOWE is available with 27.5 or 29 inch wheels.
On any bike, brakes are important. On electric bikes, braking power is paramount! That’s why we partner with Magura for the MMG brakes.Â
Magura provides the best stopping power at the best price. We stock all Magura brakes, but the 4-piston MT30 comes standard. The MT30 is a slightly heavier, less flashy MT5 that does not include brake sensors. Paired with the 203mm MDR-C rotors, you can stop on a dime… anytime.
Speaking of brake sensors, they are optional, but provide peace-of-mind knowing when you push the brake, the motor automatically stops. It’s not necessary for most riders, but a good idea for those learning. They add a bit of clutter to the wiring and are available for a modest upgrade price.
Shimano or SRAM… and only the good stuff. So many electric bikes like to use these names, and then they put the least expensive, least reliable drivetrain parts on the bike. We only use the mid to upper-tier drivetrain systems on Drip e-Bikes.
Our Shimano drivetrains are the electric bike specific LinkGlide system. Choose from the 10 speed Deore (standard) or if you want the granny gear, upgrade to the Deore XT (Hint: a FREE upgrade right now).
SRAM builds unbelievable drivetrain systems. They come at a price, but our MMG options will have your bike shifting like a dream. We offer NX, GX, and X01 traditional systems and the new T-Type wireless Transmission systems. You won’t find a better price for wireless!
All of our drivetrains are e-bike approved to shift under load.
Most hardtails come with a standard seatpost… and ours comes with a great Race Face Ride. But if you’re looking for a little cushion, upgrade to one of our suspension seatposts. We personally love the Thud Buster from Cane Creek… even if it is a little burly looking. Your tooshie will thank you!
What about a dropper you say? A dropper post is like an office chair for your saddle… push a lever to move it up or down. We’ve curated a one-of-a-kind suspension dropper post, which adds 20mm of suspension to soften your ride, while also giving you a hardtail dropper post!
Drip e-Bikes got its name because we are big on design. We think every bike should be personal and beautiful. So, we’ve created the premier custom bike builder to make your JOWE super drippy. Â
